Dutch cattle breeds

Cows for the dairy industry (ca. 95% of the total slaughter volume): Holstein-Friesian black and white and red and white. The calves slaughtered in the Netherlands originate from this breed. Cows for the meat industry (ca. 5% of the total slaughter volume): Belgian Blue, Mrij, Charolais, Limousin. The bulls slaughtered in the Netherlands originate from these breeds as well.
